Ah yes. One of the many crafting categories I am a hoarder of is : paper crafts. This includes anything from card making to scrapbooking. You name the thing and chances are I have it. From the specialty scrapbook stores of the ’00s to the creative memories stuff accumulated from friends who were sellers and a very good estate sale .
I love making things with my card stock collection. Some of my recent projects include :
- Bunting : I make it for all types of reasons. Whether a breast cancer fundraiser or a birthday. I use materials I have including but not limited to card stock, string and my printer. Sometimes employ the silhouette to help cut, someones by hand.
- Craft swaps with greeting cards : holiday themed cards made and swapped with folks from all over the world … So much fun. Also free, bought nothing, only had to pay for shipping.
- Scrapbook for my brother’s 40th birthday. Ok, my mom contributed some 12×12 paper to the effort, but I literally bought NOTHING else. Had the book, made the cover with vinyl, etc. Only thing I had to buy was post extensions because the ones I had were not the right size. I was super stunned that I didn’t need to do buy anything special for this project and pulled from my own stash. It’s the beginning of admitting I had a problem.
- Thank you cards, however are my signature MO. I will make a lot of them for Christmas and Birthdays and really enjoy it. Over the years I’ve made some fun ones. This year I had been hooked by this instagram feed and it gave me the itch to get back into hand lettering. Here’s how they turned out : not perfect but fun and individual.
Did I mention I also do the envelopes from old magazines ? Yea when it’s just a one off card I totally will use my magazine envelopes. Usually, when our fam is dolling out the gratitude, I have to use a larger envelope.
I love paper crafting because it is so accessible. I can bring the kids in and they love copying whatever I’ve done or picked up from the internet.
What is your signature go to paper craft?
